Pair of OT Thrillers send Stonehill and Franklin Pierce to Championship Game

A pair of thrilling overtime upsets on Saturday, March 2 propelled third-seeded Stonehill (20-15-2) and fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce (18-15-1) to the championship game of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEHWA). The teams will take to the ice at the Bridgewater Ice Arena, home to the Skyhawks, on Saturday, March 9 at 3pm. The winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA National Collegiate Tournament.

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (3/2/2024) – The Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team delivered a major upset Saturday evening in a 4-3 overtime victory over the NEWHA number one ranked Long Island University Sharks which punched their ticket to the conference championship on March 9th. The Ravens were just one of two teams to beat LIU in the regular season and entered the game as a heavy underdog with the fifth seed in the NEWHA tournament.
