WINTHROP, Mass. – The top three seeds and fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce each advanced out of the best-of-three opening round of the 2024 New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Tournament over the weekend and will face off in the semifinals on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
No. 1 seed LIU defeats No. 8 Saint Michael's 3-2, 3-0 Game 1 | Game 2
No. 2 seed Saint Anselm needs third game to down No. 7 seed Post Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3
No. 3 seed Stonehill defeats No. 6 Assumption Game 1 | Game 2
No. 5 seed Franklin Pierce upsets No. 4 seed Sacred Heart Game 1 | Game 2
Semifinal contests will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Saint Anselm and Stonehill will square off in Manchester, N.H. at Sullivan Ice Arena beginning at 3pm. LIU and Franklin Pierce will take to the ice at Northwell Health Ice Center at 7pm in East Meadow, N.Y.
The advancing teams square off for the NEWHA Championship on Saturday, March 9 at the highest remaining seed. The winner receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA's National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
