NEWHA Weekly Awards - 11/07/23

 

Maddison Achtyl (Stonehill, So., F, Buffalo, N.Y.)

Achtyl had a career weekend, tallying five total points off three goals and two assists and posted a +3 rating against Saint Michael's. The Buffalo, N.Y., native came up clutch with the shorthanded game-winning goal in overtime against the Purple Knights on Saturday, capping off her first career four-point game. Achtyl now ranks in the top five in the NEWHA leaderboards with six goals and 10 points on the season.

Bri Eid (LIU, Jr., D, Belle River, Ont.)

Eid tallied a pair of assists and added a blocked shot to help LIU to a 2-0 weekend sweep of Assumption. On Friday in the team's 3-1 win, Eid added a helper on the game's first goal and added another on the power play in Saturday's 3-0 shutout.

Tindra Holm (LIU, Jr., G, Skellefteå, Sweden)

Holm collects her third Goaltender of the Week award this season after posting back-to-back victories against Assumption on Nov. 3 & 4. In Friday's 3-1 win, Holm made 33 saves and lowered her GAA to 2.56. In Saturday's shutout, her first of the season, she stopped 36 shots on net and earned her sixth straight victory for the red-hot Sharks.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Isabella Chaput (Sacred Heart, Fr., F, Wixom, Mich.)
Chaput continued where she left off last weekend after recording her first career hat trick, tallying five points this past weekend against Franklin Pierce as part of a two game sweep for the Pios over the Ravens. Chaput recorded three assists in Friday's win while scoring the lone two goals in SHU's 2-1 win for the sweep. She now leads the Pioneers in goals after tallying her sixth of the season which proved to be the game-winning goal on Saturday.
